FANTASY BANGING AGAINST REALITY

Marilyn Monroe is reputed to have said “I believe that you´re always as good as your potential.” which is both very motivational in the aspirational sense, but also quite stressful and depressing in the sense of never being able to enjoy what progress you have made…there is always more.

But Marilyn did her best to work her life and career on the basis of that thought through her life. She used every possible resource to help her develop, grow and to get what she wanted. Of course, she did not always want it once she had it! Fear was not going to stop her. She was one of the greatest movie stars of her era before she became the icon that she is now. But she suffered from extreme and paralysing stage fright. Despite that she still managed to stand on stage in a dress made up largely of “skin and sequins” and sing “Happy Birthday, Mr President” to John F Kennedy.

She was a woman who possessed a deep understanding of sex appeal, sensuality and sexuality on both a practical and intellectual level. Everything about Marilyn was built and created, from her name to the husky voice and delivery to the famous platinum blonde hair. And at a time when women did not really exercise, Marilyn did daily workouts packed with free weights and callisthenics.

Marilyn Monroe was designed and created by Marilyn Monroe. Other people may have had opinions, but she was the final arbiter of who and what she became. And she brought about her self creation through intelligence and applied force of will. From raw materials that could be found in most small towns in America, she created a global phenomenon that made her fortune and has lasted for decades.

Self creation is now far more common, from major celebrities, reality show “stars” and women who work as high class escorts for Marbella escort agencies such as Marbella Beauties from The Marbella Escort Agency and 2nd Circle Escorts Marbella. But at the time Hollywood was the only place that invention happened, and Marilyn was the finest example of it.

It has to be said that her personal life did not live up to her professional success. Especially her marriages and love affairs. Film Director Billy Wilder, who directed Marilyn in some of her most famous roles, once said “Her marriages didn’t work out because Joe DiMaggio found out that she was Marilyn Monroe, and Arthur Miller found out she wasn’t Marilyn Monroe.” which is a sad comment on them, rather than her.

Marilyn Monroe was the archetype of a self-made woman. She deserves to be recognised not just for what she did, but who she was and how both her career and life came about.
